One of My Advantages
Eutechnyx has decided to releast NASCAR The Game: 2014 on PS3 as opposed to the new PS4. One thing the PS4 has going for it over its predecessor is a slight redesign of the controller that has a huge impact on the way us racers play, if we don't have the money to spring for a proper wheel and pedal setup. The original Playstation controllers can get hard to hold the throttle down on, assuming you're using the current trigger setup. Beyond that, smoothly transitioning on and off the throttle, and/or on and off the brakes is nearly impossible. Sony finally decided to flair out the R2 triggers to give users finer control/not have to clutch their controllers in a death grip.
Luckily, some third party manufacturers came up with some cheap add-ons you can grab that will help you have the same advantages for the PS3 games. I have been running with R2 trigger clips as far back as the NTG2011 game, and I can certainly say this cheap addition has helped me win more online races than anything. I can burp the throttle ever so slightly on technical tracks, hold it down much easier on plate tracks, and play with the brakes much more precisely on the road courses than I otherwise would be able to. If you're not down to go for a wheel, consider spending $2-$3 on some trigger clips. They will make you a better racer.
